The warm colors of Fall

November 29th, 2008 · 3 Comments

fall trees in the fog   Sitting here looking out the window at the last of the beautiful fall trees, it seems like we have more color this year than we generally do in central Texas.  The yellows and oranges all around the neighborhood have been such a nice change, but now the trees are losing their leaves more rapidly.
It seems odd that the brightest and most colorful part of the year is right before the most barren and gray season.  Maybe the warm burst of yellow, gold, red, rust, and orange are there to warm us before the cold of the winter to come.   Fall Leaf

Pretty trees for sure. It is great out here, too. Lots of leaves in our yard. You can’t see the driveway. Ha. Nice thoughts.

Jo – I’m glad you have nice colors out your way too – hope your pine trees aren’t changing colors though!

I was also wondering about the fact that the colors seem to be lasting longer this year. I wonder if it’s due to the warm weather? Regardless, I’m enjoying the colors…especially the vivid reds. If only we could get some blue skies to go with ‘em!
