Pencil Sketch of Apple and of Banana

February 10th, 2009 · 2 Comments

I try to keep improving my drawing skills, as I believe that is a basic foundation for any art you do beyond drawing.  Here are an apple and banana I did last week, regular ol’ pencil ~  (and if you put the word “apple” in the search box to the right, all apple-related posts will show up.)

Great lines and shading on these. I especially like the banana. What you consider sketches, I think are drawings compared to mine. Ha. Guess we aren’t supposed to compare to others. Ah, well.

Jo – I just realized I didn’t think you for your post – and you’re wrong on your sketches! There are so many “natural” drawing artists out there, I despair of ever coming close to their work – but I truly think practice does move us in that direction.
