Pear-a-thon No. 4 and No. 5

September 26th, 2009 · 5 Comments

I started both of these yesterday and wasn’t pleased with either of them, so got up early today and worked on them more. My last acrylic was sometime in the 70’s, so it was definitely an exercise in trying something almost new. On the pastel one (No. 5), I tried using colors I wouldn’t usually limit myself to.

I’m enjoying the Pear-a-thon Regina. With a simple subject the paint/pastels say so much!

Thank you Rose. I love drawing and painting pears, and am working on trying new styles and mediums, so they don’t always turn out like I would like. practice, practice

These are great. The acrylic is so colorful and different. The pastel is soft and very delicious looking. Congratulations your experiments.

    Love your “PEAR-A-THON” paintings…
Trying to stick with one thing and work on different aspects of it is sooooooooo important…
    Glad I dropped in.

Jo – Thank you – especially on the acrylic! I decided I didn’t have a clue what I was doing on that one.. I have one last one I need to finish and post that has three pears.
And I need your pears – I decided to start a Pearathon.com website (hey, it’s cheap) for all pear art!!

Marian – Thank you so much for your comments, and I love your work. The street painting is absolutely wonderful!! And the skies, and the people… I’ll be spending a lot of time there, I can tell.
